Abatron | Restoric Llc Repairs Wood Windows In Milwaukee's Historic Third Ward

Abatron’s products are used to restore historic homes and commercial buildings all over the country on a daily basis, but it’s always special when the projects take place right in our own backyard.  Downtown Milwaukee is approximately 35 miles from our manufacturing facility in Kenosha, WI, so when I heard that Restoric, LLC was working on a building in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward, I had to go and have a look.

The building at 226 N. Water Street dates back to 1914 and was originally home to the Patek Brothers, paint, oil and glass manufacturing facility.  More recently, the facility had been occupied by Jerry Mitchell Leather Company as manufacturing space, retail store and corporate offices.

After the renovation and restoration, 226 N. Water will be home to MITCHELL ON WATER, luxury apartments and first floor retail space.  The Historic Third Ward neighborhood, just south of Milwaukee’s downtown financial district, has recently become one of the most sought after areas in terms of real estate, and the building is one of the few remaining to undergo this type of transformation.  In fact, the Brix Apartment Lofts building, where our products were used for extensive window repairs, is just a few blocks away.

Restoric, LLC was called in to 226 N. Water to restore the 24 double hung wood windows and transom openings on the building’s top three floors.  Abatron’s LiquidWood and WoodEpox are being using for sill consolidation and miscellaneuous epoxy repairs.  Although I wasn’t able to scale the scaffolding and get pictures of the sills, I can’t wait to see the results of this building’s facelift.
