CLEAR WATERPROOFER is a water-based, clear waterproof sealer for wood that protects against moisture while allowing the surface to age and gray naturally. Its penetrating formula creates an invisible barrier against water damage without adding color or covering the wood grain.

Use it on exterior wood, including thermally modified wood and tropical hardwoods such as Ipe, mahogany, and teak. It’s suitable for decks, fences, siding, outdoor furniture, pergolas, and playsets.

Choose CLEAR WATERPROOFER when you want water protection and a naturally weathered appearance. It allows natural graying rather than preserving the wood’s original color.

APPLICATIONS

  • Do not use if the air or surface temperature is below 45°F/7.22°C or above 95°F/35°C.
  • Do not apply in rain or when rain is expected within 12-24 hours.
  • DO NOT THIN. Mix well. Stir contents or shake thoroughly prior to use.
  • Test a small area to ensure acceptable appearance and penetration.
  • Apply first coat with a synthetic brush; pump-up garden sprayer; air-assisted; and/or airless sprayer.
  • Use 15-17 tip and medium to coarse spray pattern. When spraying, always back brush for the best results.
  • The second coat can be applied once the first coat is damp. Second coat should be applied within 20-30 minutes after applying the first coat. Heat and humidity can decrease the time between coats.
  • For best results, apply in the shade and out of direct sunlight.
  • When applying in direct sunlight and wood surface is hot, spray with a mist of water and apply SEAL-ONCE® Clear Waterproofer immediately on dampened surface.
  • Apply to all surfaces.
  • Do not use with other waterproofing products.

PRODUCT DETAILS

All surfaces should be cleaned before sealing for best penetration and performance. Remove all old coatings, dust, debris and loose material. Remove oil, grease, algae, grime, mill glaze and mildew stains with SEAL-ONCE® Multi-Surface Cleaner.
After cleaning, test absorbency of surface by sprinkling a few drops of water on the surface. If the water does not readily penetrate the surface, stripping will be necessary to remove old coatings prior to applying SEAL-ONCE® Clear Waterproofer.
Retest surface when dry.
Then apply SEAL-ONCE® All Wood Brightener to brighten and neutralize wood after cleaning. Follow instructions before applying SEAL-ONCE® Clear Waterproofer.
